MDRP 2010 reportedly beat all previous attendance records, and with the numerous upcoming HCR related regulatory changes, the audience was all ears. Topics ranged from "Policy to Practice" with no firm guidance yet available from CMS, OPA or HRSA. The biggest challenge to pharmaceutical manufacturers seems to be making the policy decisions that will need to take immediate effect while the target is still somewhat out of focus. The first important piece of advice given by nearly all conference speakers was to make those decisions, and then document, document, document. The second important piece was that manufacturers need to send in written comments to all proposed guidance as it is issued to be sure that their concerns are heard.
